Waitrose has decided to introduce stricter rules on a scheme that entitles loyalty card holders to free coffee or tea in their cafés, with some experts suggesting the policy has been ‘abused’.
The offer, which the supermarket introduced in 2011, allowed anybody with a myWaitrose card to collect a free tea or coffee every day in store cafés or at self-serve machines even if they didn’t buy anything.
