Waitrose is recalling its own-brand New York Cheesecake because it may contain strands of plastic.
The supermarket chain says the £4 dessert ‘may contain very thin strands of plastic, which makes this product unsafe to eat’.
There are no reports of anyone falling ill but the company said: ‘If you have bought the above product do not eat it.
‘Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
