Bank Holiday Monday opening times for Morrisons, Waitrose, Asda and Iceland

It’s Bank Holiday Monday and many of us are looking to make the most of it before the long wait until the Christmas holidays.

Despite the gloomy weather that’s expected today many people are expected to turn up at Notting Hill Carnival today while others make their way home after attending festivals around the country.

If you’re looking to go shopping and stock up for the week then you should make sure that your local shops are open as many will have reduced opening hours.

Here is everything you need to know about the opening times for Morrisons, Waitrose, Asda and Iceland.

Morrisons

All Morrisons stores are set to be open during the Bank Holiday but there are many that will open slightly later and then close earlier than usual.

Many shops are set to open at 8am and then close at 7pm however this could vary slightly depending on where you live so it is worth checking on the Morrisons website if you intend to do your shopping later in the day.

Waitrose

Many Waitrose stores are running with reduced hours but the exact opening and closing times can very.

Most stores are set to open one or two hours later that their usual times and then close a couple of hours early.

Asda

Most Asda stores will be open on Bank Holiday Monday but customers can expect many of them to run with reduced hours.

The majority of Asda 24 hour shops are set to be open from 7am and then close at 8pm, whilst other stores could have even shorter hours.

Iceland

All Iceland stores should be open this Bank Holiday Monday most of them will be running with their normal opening and closing hours.

Notting Hill Carnival road closures

According to TFL, these are the areas that’ll be closed today:

From Sunday 26 August at approx. 7:00 until Tuesday 28 August:

  • Extensive road closures will extend north from Notting Hill Gate to Harrow Road, and from Latimer Road, St. Mark’s Road and Clarendon Road in the east to Porchester Road, and Queensway in the west
  • Roads will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so early Tuesday morning

Around Notting Hill, Westbourne Park, and Ladbroke Grove will be especially busy, so try to leave extra time for your journey.

There will also be no Congestion Charge or T-Charge from Saturday to Monday.
